The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Proverbs 22:9

People from all walks of life find themselves in need of groceries they can’t afford for a variety of reasons. The Mission’s Food Distribution Center offers families and individuals free fresh and non-perishable goods to take home and nourish their families.

Food items are regularly received from the Maryland Food Bank, local grocery stores, restaurants, farmers, individuals, organizations, and more.

together we can make a differencE

This past year, the Mission provided 2.5 MILLION pounds of food to thousands of individuals in need of groceries. Together with our partners, we are working to ensure that everyone in Frederick County has access to food that meets their nutritional needs. For more than a decade, we have helped to supply our local food banks, community nonprofits, school groups, and churches with food resources. We will continue to alleviate hunger throughout our county by maintaining and growing these relationships.

Private food donations are accepted. See our FAQ for information on how to donate.

FAQ

No. Jesus fed the hungry with no questions asked. So do we. We believe that if one of our neighbors needs food assistance, we need to make the process as easy as possible. Therefore, we do not ask our guests to prove their poverty to receive assistance.

The Mission always welcomes donations of non-perishable, perishable, and frozen food items, as well as prepared meals. These donations are typically accepted in our main lobby during business hours, and donors may receive a tax receipt at that time. For more information, contact Valerie Moore or 301.695.6633 x 216.

The Mission’s food needs are constantly changing with the needs of the community we serve. For a list of our current most-needed items, click here.

Yes! We love community food drives held by businesses, churches, and civic organizations. We can provide marketing materials and other support items to aid in your collection efforts. Contact Valerie Moore, Food Outreach Manager for more information.
