FAQ

The office is open Mondays through Fridays, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Come to the office to drop off donations or to get free supplies.

Depending on what has been donated, we may stock toiletries, diapers, baby food, tents, sleeping bags, and other items. Guests with a photo id may pick up items once a month for free.

We serve people from around the DC region. We do not have residential requirements to live in Frederick County. However, guests using services, other than meals,  must bring a photo ID with their address.

The Mission relies on the community’s support, and our needs continually change. We constantly look for opportunities to meet the short- and long-term needs of our community and adapt as needed.

Yes. The Mission offers Faith House, a ministry with two Christ-centered programs for women and children experiencing homelessness. Faith House is a 90-day program that provides a stable, safe, home-like environment with case management and accountability. Faith House Transitional Living Program provides one year of affordable housing for those who complete the Faith House program and who continue to work towards self-sufficiency.

The Mission also serves women and children through meals, groceries, showers, clothing, and community outreach events on our main campus.

The Mission is located at 419 West South Street in downtown Frederick, Maryland. Mail may be sent to the Mission and to Faith House at PO Box 3389 Frederick, MD 21705-3389.

The building that houses the Mission has a rich history in Frederick County, previously housing the area jail from 1875 until 1984. Now a beautifully remodeled historic site, the building that had been one for the imprisonment of men is now used to set men free from homelessness and/or addiction. It’s also conveniently located in the heart of the community in greatest need of our offerings.

Directions to the Mission

There is no public parking on our campus, however there is free on-street parking.

The Mission was founded in 1964 as a thrift store. Since that time, we have continued to serve the community by helping to alleviate hunger, poverty, and chemical addiction.
