Thanksgiving Day at the Frederick Rescue mission

On Thanksgiving, while most people are at home with family and a warm meal on the table, there are many families who either cannot provide a meal or do not have a home to go to. Many of these families have children who miss out on turkey dinner and the comfort of the whole family sitting around the table together.

Every single day of the year the Frederick Rescue Mission provides the warmth of a home and two warm, nutritious meals. This includes all holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s day. While most places are closed on holidays, the Mission remains open to serve the hungry and homeless of Frederick County.

We invite you to join us in preparing and serving holiday meals. Donations of plastic dinnerware, napkins, side dishes, turkeys and hams are requested in order to make this a wonderful occasion for families in need. If you would like to volunteer or make a gift, contact Helen Kim 301-695-6633 ext.102 or e-mail at hkim@therescuemission.org.

There is a place for your willing heart at the Frederick Rescue Mission.
