Frederick Rescue Mission Hosts Huge Community Event On Saturday, September 8, 2007 from 6:00pm until 8:30pm the Frederick Rescue Mission located at 419 W. South Street, Frederick, MD will host “South End Says No to Drugs”. Please join the Mission as we unite our community in the fight against drugs. The Frederick Rescue Mission, Frederick City Police Chief Kim Dine, State’s Attorney Charlie Smith and other community leaders will come together to bring greater awareness of the problem of drug use in our neighborhood. This is an opportunity to learn more about prevention and treatment and what we can do as a community to address this growing crisis, while providing an evening of wholesome fellowship, family entertainment, special speakers, and delicious free food for everyone. The evening will begin with special music by Contemporary Christian Band “Common Clay” followed by an informative program and ending with a special candle light prayer walk around the neighborhood. There will be special activities for children and plenty of good old fashion hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken, cold salads, and desserts. For more information about this special event, please contact Tom Skaggs at (301) 695-6633 extension 109 or e-mail tskaggs@therescuemission.org.
