Wonderful Time… Frederick, MD, 24
December 2008 — Over 200 needy men, women, and children are expected to share
Christmas dinner at the Frederick Rescue Mission, Frederick’s largest provider
of hot meals to the homeless, from 12pm to 4pm this Thursday at the Mission, 419
W South St. “Amidst all the commercialization and hype of Christmas, this is the place where we really see what the season is about,” said Mutchler, Director of Food Services. “Giving, helping, communing—it’s these things and more in true form.” Volunteers from Frederick Christian Fellowship will join Mutchler to bring and serve the meal, and no one will be turned away. “We pride ourselves on the fact that if someone needs help, we give it,” said Arnold Farlow, Executive Director at the Mission. “Thanks to the ongoing support of churches, businesses, and individuals in the community, we are able to help hundreds of families, especially on this special holiday.” For additional information, contact Guy Mutchler, Director of Food Services at Frederick Rescue Mission, at (301) 695-6633 x 211, or gmutchler@therescuemission.org. The Frederick Rescue Mission is the largest provider of hot meals to the homeless and working poor in Frederick, serving 200-300 meals a day for breakfast and lunch, as well as distributing over 150 emergency food boxes to families each month. They also give out free clothing and furniture to the needy and are a recovery home for men overcoming drug and alcohol addictions. The Frederick Rescue Mission: Bringing Hope to Frederick since 1964. |
