Residents at Beacon House Wrap-up the Year by Unwrapping Presents

This past holiday season came to a heart-warming close with love, support, and hope from generous hearts in the community.

Throughout December, many phone calls from people asking if they could buy gifts for the residents came in and thankfully, each resident and his family were provided for.

On December 22nd, the Frederick Rescue Mission held its annual gift distribution event at the Beacon House Chapel room. The engagement was joined by staff and Board, residents and their families, Adopt-a-Family sponsors, and other close friends of the Mission. As a result of the Adopt-a-Family Program this year, residents and their children were able to enjoy this Christmas with special gifts that brought tears to their eyes and joy in their spirits. More than 50 individuals, families, businesses and church groups provided each man with winter clothes, running shoes, and other items on their wish lists. Every resident experienced a special holiday season through the compassion of the community.

Now is the start of a brand new year and the Frederick Rescue Mission anticipates more partnerships to eliminate homelessness and hopelessness in Frederick County.
