For Eyes and Dr. Gilligan Provide Eye Exams and Glasses to the Residents of Beacon House
On December 15, 2006, a van full of residents from the Beacon House rode up to For Eyes on West Patrick Street, otherwise known as "Gilligan’s Eyeland", anticipating free eye exams and glasses.
Upon arrival, each man signed in and browsed through the different choices of eyeglass frames. One by one, the men were given reading tests and then taken into Dr. Robert Gilligan’s office for a thorough eye exam. Over the past few years, For Eyes and Dr. Gilligan have donated thousands of dollars in free exams and glasses for the residents at the Beacon House.

At
the end of the day, 16 residents were served with an average of $150/person. As
the residents are currently participating in the Changed Life Recovery Program,
the services of For Eyes and Dr. Gilligan provide much needed assistance to many
at the Frederick Rescue Mission.
