Annual Food Fight to Benefit the Frederick Rescue Mission

Frederick, Maryland – Two community-minded, friendly business competitors and their staff recently hosted their annual "Food Fight" and provided a much-needed boost for The Frederick Rescue Mission’s Bread of Life Community Kitchen. "This year once again our local CitiMortgage employees worked hard and had a lot of fun participating in the annual Food Fight for the Frederick Rescue Mission," said Dave Lucchino, Senior Vice President of CitiMortgage. "Along with employees from JP Morgan Chase, we 'fought for a cause' and collected a great deal of canned foods for those in need. Our team enjoys the friendly spirit of the Food Fight competition because we know that the true "winner" is the Frederick community. We're already looking forward to next year's battle."  [PHOTO] Dave Lucchino (third from left), Senior Vice President of CitiMortgage, receives a trophy for winning this year's Annual Food Fight.  From left: Tommy Skaggs, Arnold Farlow, Dave Lucchino, Charles Mason, Kelly Milton

With a total of 13,468 items, the Frederick Rescue Mission is pleased to announce CitiMortgage as this year’s "Food Fight Champion". Coming in second place with a total of 5,265 food items, Chase Card Services will have to wait until next year for an opportunity to be named "Food Fight Champion". Both teams enjoyed the friendly spirit of the "Food Fight" and know that the true "winners" are the needy of the Frederick community.

Guy Mutchler, Director of Food Services for the Frederick Rescue Mission expressed his gratitude by stating, "I am truly grateful for the Frederick Community who continues to show their unfailing love and support for the Mission". As a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization, the Mission relies on the generosity of the community to provide emergency services and a life-recovery program to those bound by addiction.

The Bread of Life Community Kitchen serves two warm nutritious meals daily to the community along with emergency food boxes to Frederick’s hungry men, women, and children.
