Frederick Rescue Mission Faithfully Feeds the Hungry in Frederick for over 42 Years

The word "Rescue" in our name reflects exactly that! Being hungry is a daily struggle for many homeless and disadvantaged families in our community. The Frederick Rescue Mission takes action to ensure that no one leaves our doors hungry. Aside from the 40,835+ meals served so far this year, we have distributed over 562 emergency food boxes filled with canned items and other nutritious goods thus far in 2006.

The Frederick Rescue Mission has a passion for bringing the healing and love of Jesus Christ to broken, poor, and disadvantaged men, women, and children. Families line up at the Mission’s Beacon House doors every single day to receive hot, nutritious meals, food boxes, and bags of freshly donated groceries including breads, vegetables, and fruits.

"It has been a pleasure serving at the Frederick Rescue Mission for the past 10 years. I am amazed at what God has done just in this past year. The Mission is able to provide more food and better quality food to more families over time. We are one of the leading food providers to the Frederick Community in this area. The Mission’s policy of feeding anyone with no questions asked allows the homeless to receive food at our facility without any red tape or risk of exploiting their personal situation or damaging their dignity. Our desire is to simply feed God’s people, develop relationships within our community and to ensure no one in this community lives in hunger."   -Guy Mutchler, Food Service Manager

The Frederick Rescue Mission not only provides the community with food, clothes, and furniture, but the Beacon House shelters 40 residents who are committed to overcoming life-ruining drug and alcohol dependencies. These men are given spiritual, emotional, educational, and vocational enhancement opportunities in order to become fathers, sons, brothers, and husbands who are dedicated, successful, and changed for eternity.
