Annual Staff and Resident Christmas Party

The Frederick Rescue Mission held its annual Staff and Resident Christmas Party on December 9th. The evening was held in the multi-purpose room of Brookhill United Methodist Church. The event opened with fellowship and greeting of all guests, including the families of the men in the Changed Life Recovery Program.

Everyone enjoyed a heaping plate of Christmas dinner foods, provided by the Mission’s Food Services Department. As the night went on, directors and Board shared stories of how they experience what God is doing at the Mission first-hand everyday. A couple residents also gave their personal testimonies of coming to Jesus, and the truth that He changes lives was apparent and powerful.

Towards the end of the party, the highlight of the night was when "Pops", a graduated resident of the Program, jumped out in his Santa costume and handed out gifts to all the children! The best part about this night was having the residents and their families in one place, smiling and laughing together, revealing to us all that God gives second chances.
