Rescue Mission Collecting Backpacks for Underprivileged Children

Frederick, Maryland – July 7, 2008

Every year the Frederick Rescue Mission holds a one month backpack drive to benefit the residents’ children as well as many children from the community. Last year, we received over 300 backpacks filled with supplies through the generosity of our friends and neighbors, and distributed the backpacks to the Mission residents’ children, needy children in the neighborhood as well as underprivileged schools in surrounding areas.  

The Rescue Mission will be accepting backpacks and school supplies from August 1^st- August 31^st.  Donations can be dropped off at 419 West South Street between the hours of 8am-8pm at the front desk any day. Please contact hkim@therescuemission.org or 301-695-6633 ext. 222 for more information.

#2 pencils
Crayons
Paper
Pencil cases
Rulers
Children’s scissors
Binders and folders
