Inspirations and TriumphsDennis Alexander- Risen From the Dead
Broken, to the point of deep despair, nearly hopeless, estranged from all family, and no friends in sight. I was without the guidance of my father both physically and spiritually. Through years of alcohol and drug abuse, I had brought a lot of relationships to disrepair. I believed I had been wronged whether I had been or not, usually not being able to acknowledge my part in these matters. A few years ago my life as I knew it started to implode and through deaths in my family, isolation from my wife, intermittent employment, and separation from the people I had left, I ended up alone, truly alone, unable to seek help even though I knew I needed some. There were days I wanted to die, and felt that I shouldn’t be alive. Then a little over a year ago through divine intervention and the work of some God-led people, I was led to the Frederick Rescue Mission and its Changed Life Recovery Program where God has graciously allowed me to study His word. I learned that I was never really alone. He has been with me all along and as I seek a relationship with Him, He is the help I need. Today through preachers, teachers, fellow believers, and learning what the Bible really has to teach, I have been blessed and strengthened. I feel at peace and ease with who I am. Now, I know I should be alive because my life has value and meaning. I believe I’m able to go on and become the man He purposed me to be. -Dennis Alexander, graduate of the Mission’s Program
