The Frederick Rescue Mission participates in a variety of activities and events to help give back to the community. Please join us at any or all of these events - we would love to meet you!

Food Drop	Monday, April 11, 1 - 4 pm Food Drop The Mission is once again partnering with the Maryland Food Bank to distribute over 12,000 pounds of food to families and individuals in need, and we have some special helpers this month: the Frederick Keys! Several players and staff from Frederick's favorite pasttime will be volunteering to hand out the food to their neighbors in need. Grand Opening	Friday, April 22, at 11am We’ve been waiting for this day for over five years—the day when every man, woman, and child who comes to eat at the Mission will have a place to sit. The day when our neighbors in need won’t have to stand in freezing cold temperatures or scorching heat to wait for their meal. The day when homeless women will have a place to shower. Our new building officially opens on Good Friday, April 22, 2011. Supporters are welcome to attend the Grand Opening ceremony at 11am. 42nd Annual Fundraising Banquet	42nd Annual Fundraising Banquet, Building for the Future-Friday, April 29, at Martin's in Walkersville. Doors open at 5:30 for silent auction; program begins at 6:30 Tickets are going on sale mid-March for this exciting evening that will celebrate building—both physically and spiritually. Spend the evening with family and friends bidding on exclusive silent auction items, eating delicious food, and hearing inspiring stories about the difference the Frederick Rescue Mission is making in the Frederick community. Frederick Keys Food Drive	Friday, June 24, at 7pm On June 24, America’s favorite pastime is also an opportunity to provide food for those who need it most. When you attend the Keys home game this night and donate non-perishable food to the Mission, you’ll receive a free ticket for another game! Walkathon and Mini-Walks	July 1 – November 7, 2011 Business groups, churches, youth organizations, senior homes, friend groups, and more: start planning your mini-walk now for this year’s walkathon program, and help the Mission raise tens of thousands of dollars to feed and provide basic necessities for those in need! The process is simple: you pick a date, organize your group, and host a walk at a location most convenient for you. ALL YEAR ROUND	FOOD SUPPLIES Did you know that hundreds of families in Frederick struggle with the choice of either paying for rent or buying food? With your help, they don’t have to. The Frederick Rescue Mission provides emergency food boxes and hundreds of hot meals to men, women, and children in our community everyday. For many, it is their most difficult time. Because the need for food has increased, your continued support will help keep our pantry full. You can save families from going hungry by having your church, office, or organization hold a food drive. Together, we can end hunger in our community.
